Learning and Technology in Schools Project (LATIS), Northern Territory Department of Employment, Education and Training (NTDE).

This included acting in the position of Manager – Learners for the Future.

Responsible for the design and implementation of all the professional development and online curriculum programs within this $35million learning and technology project. This project is creating a connected learning environment for NT students and teachers. This role involved:

* developing the plan and budget for submission to cabinet

* leadership and management of the program during implementation in the absence of the departmental manager

* creation of positions and recruitment of 14 staff within a new branch and development of those staff

* contracting of outsourced accredited tertiary short courses

* establishment of online services and e-learning tools to support professional development programs and student learning

* development of strategies for leadership programs for school principals, curriculum and classroom leaders

* reporting and advice to directors, general managers and the CEO of NTDE as well as to clients

* collaboration and cooperation with the hardware and cabling rollout contractor

* promotion of the program.

January1999 - September 2000

Responsible for the support of the teachers in the local districts as they incorporate information and communications technologies into the teaching and learning programs in their schools.

Seconded to work in teams to write systemic documents relating to the use of Information and Communications Technologies and teaching and learning as required. Examples in 2000: Intranets for schools, Webquests for the Centenary of Federation, Standards for Teachers  - Learning Technology.

July 1996 - December 1998

Consultant to the British Council (The cultural arm of the British Foreign Office) to develop a set of innovative, bilateral, telecommunications projects for schools in Australia and the UK that became the worldwide Montage Project.

Responsible for:

 ·        overall project design and management

·        sponsorship acquisition

·        promotion of a suite of online curriculum projects between the UK and Australia (Over 105 000 participants in the first year.)
